In 2018, Tia Chard joined SuperControl with an eye for detail and a spark of creativity. Starting as a Client Support Advisor, her fresh ideas quickly shone through, leading her to craft a new onboarding process and then rise to the role of Product Manager.

  • 2018: Joined as Client Support Advisor.
  • 2019: Supported the development of SuperControl’s onboarding team.
  • Provided Maternity Cover: Stepped into the Product Manager role.
  • Present: Evolving as a Product Manager.

“Life has got a funny way of surprising you. When our original Product Manager went on maternity leave, the leadership team saw something in me I had only begun to recognise. When they pulled me aside and offered the opportunity to step into the role of Product Manager, I was honoured, a little daunted, but ready to dive into the deep end.”

The Heart of SuperControl’s Development

Key Skills:

  • Sharp Listener: Hones in on what users really need.
  • Decisive Planner: Skilfully maps out the product’s next move.
  • Team Glue: Creates unity and flow in project cycles.
  • Design Thinker: Crafts a smooth and smart user journey.
  • Tech Translator: Breaks down complex ideas into lightbulb moments.

“My role is to be the voice of our users within product development. It’s about piecing together a feedback puzzle where the completed image is the roadmap for our software’s future. Turning this feedback into reality is a time-consuming blend of design, iteration and extensive testing to ensure every new feature hits the mark. It’s not just about acting on what we hear; it’s a careful, deliberate process to deliver polished, well-tested features and solutions that bring genuine benefits to our clients.”

Deciding our Course

“When it comes to shaping our products at SuperControl, it’s a little bit of seeing the future and a whole lot of listening to the now. External shifts in technology can prompt us to adapt but it’s the feedback from our users that really drives innovation. Take our booking cart’s recent transformation, for example. It started with honest client feedback– we needed to make the cart more intuitive and aesthetically pleasing. So, we rolled up our sleeves and set to work. What emerged was a revamped booking process that’s sleek, efficient, and user-friendly.”

Agile is the Name, Scrum’s the Game

“We run on Scrum, an agile development framework, which keeps our projects moving forward. Joanna’s our Scrum Master, the one who keeps everything on track and knocks down roadblocks for our developers. The Product Management team are right there with her, turning the big ideas into real stuff our developers can work on.”

  • Sprint Forward: We use the Scrum framework to keep our projects on track with flexibility and pace.
  • Master of Scrum: Our Scrum Master, ensures everything runs smoothly.
  • Team Trio: Tia and Rosie partner with Joanna, turning ideas into action for our developers.
  • Progress in Play: With Scrum, we’re always moving forward, building better software every day.

What makes SuperControl, SuperControl.

“You could say I’m relatively new to the working world, but I’ve clocked in at a few places before joining SuperControl. What strikes me is how seriously we take our values. They’re not just fancy words pinned to a noticeboard; we really do live by them. There’s a genuine sense of passion and a culture of caring that’s contagious. It’s safe to say, we’re not just about the talk; we put our One Tribe mindset into action every day.”

How I’ve Grown with SuperControl

  • Transformation: Witnessing my own growth from a beginner to an expert.
  • Confidence: The newfound self-assurance in my professional skills.
  • Knowledge: Constantly expanding my understanding of a rapidly changing technology.
  • Personal Development: Realising my ability to learn and adapt in any situation.

“From the get-go at SuperControl, it’s been quite the journey—from the eager new support advisor to product manager. It’s all about taking feedback and turning it into a roadmap, guiding our developers, and never losing sight of the core values that make us who we are. And through it all, I’ve grown—professionally, personally and technologically. Looking ahead, I see a SuperControl that’s sleeker, smarter, and even more in tune with what our users need.”
